My Story

AT MY CORE, I AM A TEACHER

From the time I was little, I have been teaching in some capacity. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Education at UW-Madison and taught in public school for 14 years before becoming a full-time stay-at-home mom after my third child was born in 2013.

I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to be home with my children full-time, and it was also during this time I realized I needed something more to support me. While just living in survival mode, I was painfully aware I was missing so many gifts along the way. The moment I stepped on my mat I knew I had come Home. It was an immediate reconnection to my Self and my life. I began my journey to truly living a fully authentic, wholehearted life with presence and purpose. Through devoted practice, I learned that, like life, yoga is far more than going through the motions to reach an end point. Rather, it is a way of being and living. After establishing a dedicated practice, I was naturally compelled to combine my two passions, teaching and yoga, into one and became certified to teach yoga in 2017.

I now hold an E-RYT 200 hr. certification having taught thousands of yoga classes in a variety of settings. In addition to teaching public yoga classes, in 2018 I launched my own business in which I expanded offering private yoga to individuals, small groups, schools, and business, both in person and online.

In 2020, I continued my expansion and became a somatic embodiment coach with a focus on sex, love, and relationships after completing the 18-month program through the Tantric Institute of Integrated Sexuality where I studied the VITA (Vital and Integrated Tantric Approach) coaching methodology. While I work with clients in all areas, some areas of interest include Womxn’s Empowerment, Life Transitions, and Grief/Loss Integration and Support.

I also hold a 200-hour Certification through the Center for Somatic Grieving as a Grief-focused Yoga Therapy Group Facilitator.

I am currently enrolled in a three-year training as an SEP-IT (Somatic Experiencing Practitioner in Training). Somatic Experiencing was developed by renowned trauma therapist Dr. Peter Levine in the 1970s and aims to resolve symptoms of stress, shock, and trauma that accumulate in our bodies. It is a body-oriented therapeutic model applied for healing trauma and other stress disorders. It is based on a multidisciplinary intersection of physiology, psychology, ethology, biology, neuroscience, indigenous healing practices, and medical biophysics and has been clinically applied for more than four decades.

I am also a speaker and presenter for businesses, offering wellness discussions, nervous system regulation strategies, and self-care practices.
